Meet our teachers…
Lauren Embury
A Northern Michigan native, a United States marine Corps Combat Veteran, and a Bulls Graduate. I received my Master's Degree in Physical Education in 2009, after having my first child. This is my 13th year teaching. I came to LaVoy after teaching with FLVS for 7 years, adjuncting at HCC, and working in Pasco County teaching HOPE, Medical Skills, PE, Adaptive PE, Weight Training & Conditioning, along with coaching basketball, volleyball, softball, cross-country at the high school level. Passionate about sports and "play", love the outdoors/beach life and enjoy every minute with my family. Very excited to be a part of the LaVoy Team.
Suellen Bowe
I am so grateful to be at LaVoy! This is my 29th year teaching! I was born and raised in Upstate NY and come from a long line of educators! This is my 12th year in Hillsborough County and prior to teaching in SDHC, I taught in Ocala and NY. My teaching experience includes: P.E.: prek-12, coach of various high school sports, k-5 classroom teacher- all subjects. I was also a graduate assistant for my Master’s Degree responsible for teaching college students to teach adapted P.E.

Certifications:
FLA: P.E. k-8, Elem. Ed. K-6, ESOL & Students with Disabilities, and NY :P.E. k-12.
